about me

Ashish Mitra, founder of Exterior-Interiors (P) Ltd., India, Bangladesh, Nepal,Sri Lanka and the USA continues his dream and passion to innovate and excel with his new organization “IndoConsult”. Mr. Mitra has been a life-long professional with a passion for Interior Architecture and an eye for business. With his experience with large multinational organizations based in Kolkata he has inspired many South Asian young professionals to take up interior design. He explains, that he enjoys spearheading an organization watching the unfolding of great outcomes through the competitive and collaborative efforts of the employees.

Mr. Mitra, completed his MBA from the prestigious Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta (IIMC) and has over 30 years of experience of the various industries. Over the years, Ashish Mitra has served in various capacities in his professional field with several prestigious firms. In 1986, he pioneered the concept of a structured curriculum of Interior Design in South Asia. Ex-In’s success an educational platform and an Interior design consulting firm made it transnational expanding in five countries. Ex-In graduates received immediate placement in the industry.

Mr. Mitra was awarded the “Life Time Achievement Award” for his contribution in the field of Interior Design from the prestigious Association of Architects, Builders, Interior Decorators & Allied Business (ABIDS). He continues to innovate and envision new frontiers of excellence after retiring from his current position as Managing Director of Exterior Interiors (P) Ltd. through his new consulting firm Indo Consult.

Mr. Mitra volunteers his time in charitable work as a Charter member of the Rotary Club of Calcutta Metropolitan, in training, implementation & harvesting of Organic Farming in West Bengal. He assisted in setting up of ‘Piyali’ a village school for children which started with 30 children and now currently enrolls 1000 boys and girls, a role model of Rotary International worldwide. He also supports several charitable organizations such as Nari Shiksha Samity, which is involved in education of poor and destitute girls, Bharat Seva Ashram Sanga, which is involved in disaster relief work, Governing Council Member of Sri Balananda Hospital & Research Centre, Kolkata. He is an Active Mason in Masonic Lodge Saint James, carrying out education of poor and needy boys.
